Door speakers

I’ve bought a pair of mid range speakers to fit into the doors. Took the door card off today in the slim hoe that the wiring would be there but no. I’ve read that it’s possible to take a feed off the door tweeters. Does anyone know where I can get the 2 pin plugs for the speakers from?

You can just tap into the tweeter wiring and either crimp on some female spade terminals or solder direct onto the speaker tabs - I did a write up at https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53812&

Thanks for that. I’ll have a read.

I simply took the feed off the tweeters and connected them to the new door speakers. It's volume I was after so was win win for me.

Can you remember which wire went to which terminal on the speaker?

It's in my how-to... 'The Tweeter cables have a black stripe on the +ve wire so ensure that you match this up with your speaker wire.'

I was the opposite. Feed for the tweeters came from the door speakers when the tweeters were installed. All soldered too.
