One of my door speakers has stopped working on my coupe, I believe its probably just a loose connection after replacing the door membrane and putting in a load of sound deadening.
But since I have to take it all back off now anyway I thought I would swap them out for something a bit newer.
I believe my Coupe has the 10 Speaker Hi-fi option consisting of:
Radio Business-CD or CID
• HiFi amplifier
• Front left and right low-range speakers (woofers)
• Front left and right high-range speakers (tweeters)
• Front left and right mid-range speakers
• Rear left and right low-range speakers (woofers)
• Rear left and right mid-range speakers
• CD changer (optional)
The above I stole from an american site so not sure how acturate it is.
what is the reccomended door speaker swap or what should I be looking for for door speakers? ive seen the hertz ones reccomended: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hertz-dcx100-3-2-Way-Speaker-System-inch/dp/B008B5B1N6
also some focal jobbies. Dont really know too much about speakers. Ideally looking at something that will swap right in with the existing wiring but a little soldering here and there isnt an issue.
Im aware the door speakers need to be quite shallow to clear the glass and I will have to adapt the mounting points due to BMW's silly 3 hole vs 4.
Anyone any reccomendations.
