Door seals

Hi guys, door seals are they easy to replace and what sort of price are we talking to buy them.Its mine seems to have a split above my right ear which is causing a little wind noise.Would it have to be replaced or can it be repaired and if so how. Thanks in advance Steve

They aren't cheap, it's the whole seal around the circumference of the door basically. i.e. £200+

Are you sure it has split? It might be that the door or window needs adjusting instead...

yes well looks that way or its been cut one or the other

Can you get a picture? Mine has a slice in it but that's just where they're connected if that makes sense?

For £200 I would find a way to make a very neat repair using either black silicone or superglue to bond the 2 sides of any split or tear together.

Cheers guys the cut or slice i am talking about is just around where the door seal bends round the window playlistic says he has one too is this normal but i seem to be getting some wind noise around it.cj10jeeper thanks for the idea of black silicone. Cheers Steve

I'd definately check the window to see if its pushing again the roof seal sufficiently, my car needed to go back for adjustments after bmw replaced the window regulator - had a nice draft and whistle above 30 mph....

sorry to thread jack but when I heard the door whistle comment it rang a bell - when I go over around 100mph I can hear a whistle coming from the passenger side door - I cant exactly tilt my ear over that direction whilst doing that speed to check out where exactly its coming from but its definitely coming from that door.

playalisticc - you mentioned that the window could be adjusted? how do you mean? thinking I could adjust it to stop this if so.

sorry to thread jack but when I heard the door whistle comment it rang a bell - when I go over around 100mph I can hear a whistle coming from the passenger side door - I cant exactly tilt my ear over that direction whilst doing that speed to check out where exactly its coming from but its definitely coming from that door.

I was doing over 100 checking my door seals and heard a funny noise coming from behind me, then some blue lights..................

Breaker has an E89
