I’m sure people have posted this before but as a fresh view I thought I’d share a vid of the leak in my door ‘acoustic seal’.
Last week I found a puddle in the passenger footwell.
Door seals are referenced frequently as the cause and sure enough it seems this is at least one source.

As you can see the seal is in generally good shape but the butyl tape has become unsticky. I’ve now replaced the tape and with a hot gun made it nice and tacky and resealed it. Any excess water in the door now drains out the bottom as designed.

This is the butyl tape I used in case it helps. Generally good for patching up even the tattiest foam barrier:

Hi Street, where is the repair made? I saw water dripping down behind the acoustic seal. Is that normal? I have water leak in both sides :(

The foam acoustic layer that I lift at the end should be sealed tight to the door. It’s designed to allow water to run down inside the door but it drains out the bottom. Not through that barrier.
