Door seal problem...

Hi.

I have bad rubbing/rattling noise when driving over rough road coming from the doors / windows. The noise is temp removed when applying a bit of petroleum jelly (vaseline!) around the seals on the door and window. Am looking for a more permanent solution though as the jelly only does a journey or two! I have seen that a lot of posts refer to the gummi-pflege product. Is that just for keeping the seals water tight, or will it help with the very annoying noises!!

Most likely the doors just need some slight adjustment on the striker plate so they close more firmly.

Vaseline BTW being petroleum will destroy the door seals fairly quickly. Use proper spray.
 
The Gummi Pfledge is worth a go, i spotted they used this on the Audi forum when they had squeaky door rubbers and recommended it to people on the Focus ST forum as the ST suffers from squeaky door seals (rubber seal on both door and frame for some reason), it didnt totally eradicate the noise on my ST but helped so worth a go....
