Door Seal? I think, slightly damp footwell drivers side

Well Chaps

I clean the carpets and used Autoglym rubber seal treatment about 2 weeks ago and everything was dry so this is a new problem. Anyway noticed yesterday I pulled the floor mat out a little an noticed it was a little bit damp on the far right handside only a little bit drivers side

Has a door seal had it? Or a blocked drain??? I know we have had like 6 months rain in 2 weeks but seems a bit odd.

Anyone had this problem and is it an easy fix?

But had this on mine when the drives window didn't drop so
on shutting the door the window was on the outside of the rubber,
but didn't spot it until the next day, rain that night and some water
got on to the floor but mosty down by the seat :(
 
Cheers I keep an eye out see if it gets worse or not, is there any important electrical stuff near by?
 
It's not a Z but I just had my wife's Honda rescued by my indi - all the electrics stopped working inside, central locking the works, took it to them and they found a bucketful of water under the footwell and a corroded body control unit. They reckon that it happens when the screen is replaced and not fitted correctly... Also happens when water gets in around sunroofs though you won't have that problem :P They've fixed it all without spending £650+VAT on a new BCU (took apart, dried, re-soldered :thumbsup: ), but I need a new screen. Worth doing a soak test to see if you can identify where the water is coming from.

Of course this could be total crap in the case of your car, but I thought I would share from recent experience, especially if it turns out it's had a new screen in the last year or two. Worth saying that if it's right under the dash at the foot end of the footwell then yes, there is a lot of important electrical stuff in there...
 
After extensive research an fact finding water ingress is becoming a complete pain the arse for me. BMW have made a major design fault on the door seal as it almost invites water into the cabin at the bottom of the seal itself. You will notice small holes in the seal along the bottom the one nearest the windscreen (for want of a better description) let's water gather this in turn leaks onto the outside edge of the carpet. I thought it was N issue with just my passenger door after a repair but I noticed the drivers side was i damp but no repair done on that door. Pics would exPlain better so I think I'm goons have to take some to clarify :thumbsup:
 
Its strange as was raining before I cleaned the car , and when cleaning it all was fine. Its happened after do you think the autoglym stuff may be affecting the seal? will investigate further
 
Right checked it out today its the door seal I notice some little dropplets of water coming under the plastic trim bit after blasting it with water to test, least I found the route. Any ideas of cost ? is there an easy fix?
