Door rattle

I've read quite a bit on here about the door rattle. Mine is quite a quiet but annoying noise on rougher surfaces. I've checked my window by pulling it by the top corner as suggested in one post. It is rock solid, no movement at all. So, could it still be the screw even if the window doesn't budge?

I used a post to try to remove the door trim yesterday without success. There were 2 tiny torx screws in the handle that I didn't expect to see and had no tool for!

Yeah,I have looked at the door locks, held them tight when driving and rattle doesn't stop.

Got the door trim off today and found the infamous window screw, but it seemed fully tightened. Nothing else looked loose or out of place, so I will see what happens. Found an excellent video on how to remove door trim if anyone is interested:

If you've still got the trim off its worth sound proofing the outer skin,

Does DIY soundproofing make a big difference? I guess I'd have to rip out all that grey felt stuff which seemed really well stuck down and in original condition. What soundproofing stuff would you recommend?

If you have a face lift car it has sound proofing pre face lift don't have any on the outer skin,
The product I used is called skinz
It's an sticky bitumen type sheet,

I used sound deadening sheets on the inside of the doors. Makes a huge difference, gets rid of the tinny sound when closing and makes the door feel heavier and more solid

Thanks for the video. I am summoning up the courage to tackle my driver's door. On mine it is the locking mechanism that rattles, so I know the solution is to wrap the shaft in felt and problem solved.

I saw that the fella in the video had a variety of (well at least 2) tools to get the trim off. Does anyone have a recommendation as to what I should get to tackle what for me will be an epic DIY task!

Thanks

I bought this set a few weeks ago:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004OEL4LW/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item

Great value, strong and a whole heap of shapes and sizes. I tried the door skin last week and failed miserably. But with the video it was pretty easy to be honest. Unfortunately hasn't stopped the bloody rattle!

Thanks - added to my long and growing to do list, most of which isn't Zed-related. :x
