Cheers mate, I'll let you guys know how I get on. Car is a 56 plate so should be ok.

I bought one of these coincidentally a week or so back, think he accepted an offer at about £23 delivered.

I tried it quickly but NCS Expert doesn't work on Win64 systems, and virtually everything else needs setting up as Compatibility Mode. Couldn't get INPA to connect, despite it finding the cable, wouldn't read the car.

So I was planning to either dedicate a netbook to it (probably) or set up a 32bit XP VM which seems to be the most compatible. Mine came with 3 DVDs and installs a million things too.

Not for the faint hearted, perhaps but would be great to get everything working. My quest was purely to turn off the sodding seatbelt warning, which Pete in Telford tried but it's still the same

Once I've got the hang of it I was gonna offer to reprog midlander forumites cars too 8)

I activated auto lock and unlock when key comes out of the ignition with my intravee ipod kit. Works a treat.

Daz05, how did you do this via the intravee? I'm fed up with having to pull the door handles twice to open the door!

I didn't have autolocking enabled on my car, when I updated the software to the latest version the option is there to enable autolocking and auto unlock in the settings menu. I clicked on them and it has worked ever since.

The advert for this on ebay states (bottom of page):

"This will not work on cars built from 03/2007 and newer cars"

Since my 2007 E86 coupe was built a few months after 03/2007, does this mean there is a different connector on newer Z4s???? Or is their advertisement mistaken and it will work?

Not sure mate, it works on my 2004. Maybe someones nearby and you can try it.

How easy was it to reprogram, could anyone do it? I'm thinking of buying from the link above, but a gargae near me can do any changes for £30.

I'd prefer to do it myself for that price and have the software to edit it and read any potential faults in the future.

I found it relatively straight forward. I run win 7, so had use a virtual machine to get the software working. If you have an xp machine should be simple!

What does it say the buld date of the car is in the engine bay. I have a car registerd in 08, but build in June 06.

This is the one a few of us have bought and had success with

Offer £20 and you should get a positive response

Found this on the BMW coding forum

Using NCS expert and EDIABAS cable I was able to activate:

FH_BEIFAHRERTUER_TIPP_ZU on touch up - passanger window

KOMFORTOEFFNUNG_FB key fob roof open

KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB key fob roof close

This was my very first time coding, it feels great! However I don't know much obviously.

Using SSS v32 I coded the car to lock the doors when I start driving. Now I am wanting to find a way to
automatically unlock doors with engine shut off/key removal so I don't have to pull the lever twice or hit the unlock button, is that an option on the Z4 E85 using coding? someone replied not possible.

I got the software and cable and getting ready to reprogramme...do you start with a base dump of your car and then modify??

my only worry is that its going to be massivley complicated!

Using the supplied instructions is straight forward and SSS is a GUI program from programming car/key features,

I like the look of this but I'm put off by the amount of work it might take just to switch on auto lock. (I've got a 64 bit Windows 7 Laptop)

Would anyone in the Midlands area do it for beer tokens?

holy hell im finding it extreamly complicated to install the software! never seen anything like it tbh, anyone fancy giving me a hand??
