Door Handle/Bowden Cable Problem

Hello everyone
So, I had the exterior bowden cable snap on my drivers door handle. After a bit of difficulty replacing it, I finally had it back on and it worked well. Door would open nicely from the outside and inside. I then drove my usual commute to work, arrived and the door handle will now not work from either the inside OR the outside. After opening the window and looking down into the door, it seems that the cable is pulling to its maximum position (which it should when operating the door handle) but then it does not relax back into the same position as the passenger side does. Almost as if it is still under tension somehow.
The door lock is not sticking, it works well. I have noticed the window does not drop when you try to pull the door handle, it stays in position. The door was also working fine until the first time I moved the window. I think the window has something to do with why it stopped working. Are there any electrical joins between the window and door lock??

As far as I've seen the unlock mechanism is mechanical. I've been where you are and believe it or not, but with some careful wiggling you should be able to get the door card out with the door closed.
You might break a few clips, but those are inexpensive.

That should help you gain access to see what's happening
