Door glass and door handle not synced

Up until last week when I opened the door the window would lower an 1/8th of an inch so the glass would clear the roof trim, now it's not doing that anymore.
The glass is hitting the roof trim now when I close the door.
Anyone know the procedure to re-sync the window motor with the door handle?

Lower the window all the way. When it gets to the bottom, release and repress the switch four times within 10 seconds. You should hear a faint click inside the door. Raise the window all the way. When it gets to the top repeat the process.
Do the same for the other door.
This should hopefully reset the windows.

They lose their memory if the battery is disconnected. But I've also had occasions where they just stop for no reason and I have to reset.
