Door edge protector, recommendation please

My paint is in good condition at the moment, I want to keep it that way.
Is there a good way to protect the door edges. I know they don't look good but wondered about different products/ways.
 
Hi, on our mini we have put these side protectors on to stop door dings in the supermarket (god that annoys me!)
I think they'd look rubbish on a zed though :o

We've got a set of those for the X3 - they work very well but you wouldn't want to use them when the car's too dirty as the magnets are quite strong and they'll push any grit into the paint
