Don't worry, it's not a 'Man-bag'

So I treated my Zed to some lovely new cleaning products which came in this fetching red bag........

Inside are 11 different Autoglym products plus sponge, towel, perfect palm applicator, synthetic chamois and 'car care guide'. I also picked up a new bucket, a proper (non-vegetarian lol) extra large chamois, alloy brush, cloth and sponge.....

Now just need some nice weather and some spare time to use it all!!!

Impressive kit there J. Reckon you'll use it all around May 2013 time though.

In the mean time think I'm gonna have to cover the Zed up to keep the elements off her!

Can anyone recommend a good wax? There's two polishes in this kit but have read a bit about applying a wax coat afterwards?

Go to cleanyourcar.co.uk, fill your boots. Dodo Juice do a soft wax for light cars - I use the one for dark cars, Purple Haze Pro, and it's ace.

That's a great kit, but before anyone else says it - swap the chamois for a large microfibre drying towel or two

Looks like you've got SRP in that kit (silicon resin polish). Put that on, polish it off then AG also do a High Definition Wax which is as good as any

I'd agree with bing with regards to the drying towel. Better protection for the paint and so much easier to use.

I would also keep that sponge away from the paintwork and save it for grubby jobs like inside wheel arches and under the sills. A good deep pile wash mitt will help to lift dirt away from the paint whereas a sponge just leaves it in contact causing swirls. I also tend to give the mitt a quick check and rinse periodically as I'm washing, just incase

Waxes are a minefield of numbers and variations (like most of this detailing malarky) but tbh any good quality wax will suffice- if there's one in the kit then I'd just use that. If not then ive found collinite to be very durable which is ideal in the winter months but I think you'll need to order it online- I've always been incredibly impressed by elitecarcare.co.uk and their delivery times.
