When I took my center concole out a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that there is a empty connector in there. I think it is for the Sport Button, which this car does not have.

I wonder if I just plug it in, if the computer has the code to shift to sport mode? e.g. Will it work?

I've been told (by BMW, but that doesn't prove anything) that just hitting the proper pin on the DME with the proper voltage will not activate Sport Mode on a car not thus equipped. If you want to backdoor a Sport Mode it would probably be more effective to open up your accelerator pedal module, throw in a little op-amp circuit and modify the voltage curve.
