john-e89 said:(Sigh) As I already said I know it’s from the Sun, a publication I wouldn’t spend money on if I had to, it’s simply a quote from a German MEP that imho is quite telling. It just happens to be from the Sun, could be from the Times, the new Scientist the chronicles of feckin’ Narnia....its the quote that’s important, or not, see it as you wish.

Nicolaus Fest is a German politician who is serving as an Alternative for Germany Member of the European Parliament.[3]
Alternative for Germany (German: Alternative für Deutschland, AfD) is a German nationalist and right-wing populist political party,[5] known for its opposition to the European Union[21] and immigration.[22] It is often characterized as being on the far-right of the political spectrum.[20]
It subsequently expanded its policies under successive leadership to include opposition to mass immigration, Islam, the European Union, and has gradually moved to the extreme right since its founding.[23]
n March 2020, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (German: Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz) classified the far-right nationalistic faction known as Der Flügel as "a right-wing extremist endeavor against the free democratic basic order" and as "not compatible with the Basic Law" and therefore placed it under intelligence surveillance.[116][117]
The party wants to most notably restrict "uncontrolled expansion of wind energy".[125]
AfD wants a reinstatement of conscription, starting for men at the age of 18.[131][125]

I don’t care what his political leaning is, that’s not what the quote is about......what he says is fact.
Not true of The Guardian then? Y'know political bias? How about The Independent? lolPbondar said:John I wouldn't consider anything quoted in the Daily Mail/Sun/Express/Mirror as vagely or remotely valid as a context for a reasoned debate..
Even the Telegraph and Times have gone downhill in terms of political bias..
Of course if such things serves ones own convictions /biases then of course feel free to quote them!

Which bit are you referring to?
The part in quotes attributed to the German MEP at the bottom of the image seems to be his opinion. The data points don't appear to have come from the MEP, but the Sun's article. The sources in the Sun's article (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/13543719/europe-year-lockdowns-vaccine-buying-blunder/) seem to be more Sun articles. It's difficult to tell whether or not there's a reliable source for Brussels turning down 200 million doses or if that information is true but deliberately placed out of context.
This isn't about shooting the messenger, it's about calling out potentially misleading information.
