Well it made me feel better about my recent E89 purchase so thought I would share.

I really need to concentrate when listening to the BMW Doctor very fast speaker!, found his video's really useful and helped me make my mind up on my recent 3.0si N52K purchase :thumbsup:
 
The N52 really is an excellent motor, especially in the Z4 (since the engine bay is massive so you can easily work on it).

I also find it is quick enough for UK roads.
 
Jeez he doesn't half witter on doesn't he! Can't help thinking he's also a little bias.
 
Being a bit cynical here, but he also changes his mind from year to year :lol:

One vid he shows the uses of engine flush additive on his M54 and then a year later he puts out a video explaining why you should never ever use engine flush additives... :slaphead:

Well definitely their best non-M naturally aspirated straight 6.

Luckily I've still got one in my 330i, although it performed better in my Z4s!
 
I do NOT rate this guy at all. Especially after he was hawking that stupid fkg 'engine treatment sh!t in a bottle'. 'Guys, this is allll yew wiw need if youz got engine knocking an stuff, I'm telling yaz now it's farkin miracle this stuff. If youz don't buy it straight away you're missing some bwaincells init'.
What an utter tw@t on a stick! lol
He became quite irate at me in the comments when I advised I was unsubscribing from his channel for hawking paid-for snake oil'.
His response: 'You unsub all yew want mate, yewl see I was right an you was wrong!'

Anyway, it's M54 ftw.

The guy can be a bit of tool, but some of his videos can be useful. Take away what is useful and ignore the rest. What amazes me despite being a tool, recently he's been gaining large number of subscribers fast!

Have to agree about the N52 though it is BMW's best NA 6 pot engine!

I'm with Silverstar here. You can have your big old HEAVY S54 lump, .But you all know that right?

As in another life we were a snake oil persona, what is the stuff inna bottle?

I've had an E46 M3 - awesome engine, great noise, all those lovely machine sounds from up front.
E30 M3 - still got that one, 4 banger - feels like a true race car once you're in the twisty bits, raw sound, you feel everything, best chassis for chucking it in to the corners.
E89 30i - very linear acceleration, great fun, you hear that wonderful German engine over the exhaust, smooth.
It is so entertaining because the chassis (standard suspension) and engine are such a good match.
Now an E89 35is - for everyday driving you seem to lumber along - set up for fuel economy. Switch to sport or sport+ and it comes alive.
The exhaust is what you notice over the engine. Bloody fast if you dare.
