olympic closing ceremony on , george michael ( who i detest) , makes myself a capuccino & wanders into garage . .
slipped into the zed & found myself listening to van morrison in the dark :crazydude: top tune though / " into the mystic "
am i in too deep ? where does it end ? had similar problem with aircooled 911 a few years back , , then my wife wanted to know if i wanted my meals in it ?

Its a nice place to be, sitting in the driver seat of a zed...

Don't go eating your dinner in it though, that would be taking it too far :poke:

The best sounding singer of the night was Eric Idle. All the others sounded like they'd forgotten to turn the mikes up,or do a proper levls check.

To me Erc Idle was the worst....sorry...

I detest Jessie J, but she can certainly sing....best singer of the night...

Can't believe some of the people they have rolled out!!!

Has the Z got a stereo??? :?

Prefer 8000 rpm of heaven myself. :driving:

Interesting way to spend an evening, but only after all the wordls petrol runs out. :P

Whenever I lock the back door to the garage at night I always, without fail, switch the light on for a quick look

My wife often asks me if have said goodnight to my car... Never been out and just sat in it though. Yet. I guess I could get out of it faster when I've switched it off after parking...

The most worrying part of your tale OP is that you can drink coffee so late at night.

I often go and sit in my garage or car listening to music. But I've long been regarded a weirdo by friends and family.

Agreed, I think the idea was for the folks watching at home to get the same 'stadium experience' at those sitting in their £650 seats, i.e. crap sound. Why on earth they didn't do a proper feed instead of seeming like they were feeding from a mike propped up in the middle of the stadium is beyond me.
When the kids are all screaming at each other I usually slip out to the car and listen to some music; all I need now is for the wife to bring me some coco and I'd be sorted... :D

It is pretty tough to do good audio in a stadium that size. The stadium sound system is pumping out high volume so the audience can hear, but with such a large stadium the sound takes ~ 1s to get from one side to the other so you start to struggle with echoing, and then the stage mics pick up the sound intended for the audience ~ 0.5s out of sync from the sound they just made.

So basically the levels are hard to get right with so many different talents demanding priority at different times.

If it was just for TV then it'd be easy but because there is an audience too it complicates matters a lot.

I do generally agree though some of the singers were a bit iffy at times, but it does make you wonder how many may have been miming along.

Got to love the rappers in the big Rolls Royce convertibles, and some of the other over-indulgent crap haha... part of me thinks the closing ceremony could have been a bit more dignified and less 'cheapy', it kinda brought down the whole mystique of the olympics a bit more me.

I stopped watching and started reading about the F35 budget over-runs, that's how interesting the closing ceremony got :D
