yes and jez I will never buy another black car again because of it...even a bit of dust over the car and it looks dirty just after a wash!

Yeh yeh yeh, I said the same thing ...then I got another one... in Sapphire Black :D
Sapphire Black , then Carbon Black and then Sapphire Black, when will I ever learn?

Nice pics of the car...too bad it needs a wash... :poke:

I've had plenty of black cars, my very first car was black and I said never again then, but it didn't stop me. My Z4 is the first silver car I've had and I tell you it's a revelation, hasn't been cleaned for weeks and dispite a layer of dust covering the car it still looks clean. Carbon black as my previous car was, would have required it to be cleaned every five minutes.

They say, most people buy 2 black cars in their life. They buy the first one because it looked so good but then sell it when they tire of washing it. They later buy a the second one as they forgot what a pain the first one was.

I've had ruby black and felt fantastic when I picked it up from the showroom and then spent 2 years washing it twice a week yet it still looked dirty. I chopped it in for a silver grey and had the car for 2 months before I thought - should I wash it - nahh - it doesn't look dirty yet!!

I'm getting sick of the dust on my silver one, After the 4ft of snow in December the council still havent lifted the tons of grit and sand on the roads next to my house, as I live on a bus route everytime a bus passes my house is covered in a plum of mucky dust.

Getting right on my wick.

Yes its why i decided on a Silver Z i did look into Black/Cream they look so nice but to much hard work it would do my head in

My first car was black and said i would never get one again... so got a silver car after it.... however it never gleamed like black so i have had a black car ever since.... whats that saying... once you've had black you never go back?

Hahaha that describes me EXACTLY.

I had two Silver Grey BMWs in between and its by far the easiest colour to keep looking perfect, if the next ones a BMW its probably going to be grey....

I had one black car, an SL500. I swore I'd never get another, and I'm sticking to that. It would look clean for about 2 hours max. Drive by one dusty spot and it was all over. Never again.

X2...except mine was a Vette, but same reasoning.

Does anyone find blue a pretty bad colour for looking dirty? I dont know whether it is just all of this pollen that is about but mine seems to be dirty straight after I have cleaned it!

I'm on my second black car. Nothing shows the difference bteween dirty and clean like black! After cleaning it I get that 'that looks awesome!' feeling that I never got with the silver grey M3: filthy or clean that thing looked the same :( . Even spending hours on it, it hardly looked any different from when I'd started!

I really like Silver Z's as i feel it really shows up all the funky angles of the bodywork nicely, but am being drawn in more by black ones every day. I love washing my car, so that won't be a problem, it's just the thought of seeing every new scratch and stone chip that would annoy me

Black shows swirl marks more than any other colour unfortunately :(

I've just ordered this which is supposed to be very good:
