So we parked up yesterday after a drive in the sun, roof down obviously, and I press the roof close button the motor whirs away but nothing happens. I try again and the motor whirs and strains and nothing - the roof isn't budging. My heart sinks - has the dreaded day arrived! I try again but it doesn't budge. Then Mrs Marlon points out that I haven't removed the top down side covers :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Hi Marlon, I didn't realize the covers would stop the roof moving? I thought they just got ejected onto the floor :o

My motor must be a bit stronger than yours - if I do that the side covers pop off

I broke one of my side covers by doing this. One just popped off, mother other popped off breaking part of the locking mechanism. It still works, but probably makes my side covers worth less than £500 now!
:P

It must have been annoying, not sure if that justifies calling it a mother though

Don't worry Rick , regain any lost value by simply spraying them with black paint

To make me remember when they are on I stick a blob of Blu Tac in front of the retract button - it works a treat. Of course yesterday I forget to do the Blu Tac thing :headbang:

You need a different colour of tacky stuff to remind you to put the Blu Tac in place!

Thankfully no harm done Marlon, I've done it before to but just managed to stop the roof as one cover popped off .
