Done anything to test your nerves lately?

Currently in Chamonix hoping to climb mont blanc. Though things are running against us right now. That aside as a fun little training walk, we all did this yesterday.

Have to say it got the nerves jangling a bit for the first few paces. Not my video. Nor do I have any photos. Too busy concentrating, following a clear instruction from my climbing partner. "John, don't fall off in the next 300m, or we are both dead." :o

I did that one but I was 18 at the time. Not sure how I would feel now though.

Did the Aguille de Midi as well

Do you mean the rock climb back up from the hut to the cable station?

Yep, and then to be greeted by 50 Japanese tourists

Those were the first week warm up trips before doing the Tour du Mont Blanc.

Never climbed the Mont Blanc itself though.

It was only 7 hours drive from where I lived so was a regular escape during a long weekend.

That's cool. A couple in our team did the climb and we waited in the snow at the top for them to appear. We all did the easier scrable/climb from below the hut up to it. But not enough experianced alpine climbers to take us all safely to the station on that route.

Not done anything lately, but planning to jump out a perfectly good plane in november...

Keep us posted on that one.

I was chatting to a guy who enjoyed para sports, whilst we waited for our mates at the top. He told me the cliff top 10 yards away, was a popular spot for base jumpers.

Skied The Vallee Blanche from the Aiguille du Midi cable-car down into Chamonix, in my distant youth which was full of very deep and nasty crevasses.

Scenery fantastic and the silence apart from the ice creaking was awesome

Looks like the end of this adventure. I got separated from the group today in horrendous conditions. The Two young guns are going to give the summit a go tomorrow. Three of us our heading down. Possibly the scariest few hours of my life today, needed every thing I know about the mountains. Time to head for the valley.

You want scary, try taking my daughter on a driving lesson! That will really test your nerves. :)

Taught both of ours to drive. First driving lesson for Edd was at 12y, in an empty car park by the beach, in my Fiat coupe 20vt. Dog ran out from nowhere. Just mist it.. almost 2y until he got a second lesson. He could rack the pedals better by then. :D
