Doh! #readthemanual

Kinda getting away from the point that if you switch the heating or aircon off before you exit the car and lock it, when you return be it an hour or 2 weeks later it automatically comes back on.

It's a bad design and had sod all to do with the roof being on or off. The key will remember the position of the seat, the mirrors and the last known fan setting but it will not remember that the fan was switched off?!?

For me I prefer to have as little extra drain on the battery when starting the car. The auto lights are off, the radio is off and the vents off. If you have a decreased battery charge then the car actually limits the fan in the vents to a mere slight whaft, so your best switching it off until you either want it back on or until you've driven sufficiently to bring the charge back up.

Playing in the iDrive settings I found a setting called Comfort on the door opening section.
If I press the open button on the key fob twice and then open the door the window goes all the way down and all the way back up on close.

Don't quite understand why that's comfort?
I actually really like that setting, it makes it easier to get in if someone is parked close next to you. I suppose it's "comfort" as you don't have to contort your body quite so much!

The door glass does protrude past the door line and if you have to limbo into the car in a tight space it certainly helps

Ahh, that makes sense.
