Dog Owners

Hey Everyone,

Are there any dog owners who've had their dogs in their Zeds?

If so, how have you managed this? I have been reluctant to use my Zed for dog transportation but necessity will dictate it in the coming weeks. So any advice on how you've done this would be greatly appreciated.

I take my cocker spaniel in the Z4 a fair bit.

I use one of these.... http://www.amazon.co.uk/PetGear-Happy-Pet-Front-Cover/dp/B00422L560/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1428409950&sr=8-1&keywords=pet+gear+seat+cover and a seat belt clip for his harness. He sits very comfortably and loves going out with the roof down.

Depends on the size of your dog obviously but it does work.

My step mum transported her springer around in her S2000 come rain or shine for many years without any issue.
Cars can be hoovered and cleaned...nay bother!

Used to take our two Border terriers out in our MX5 but we've never transported them in either of our Zeds.

Too concerned for the leather and piano black interior. . . . hope you get sorted.

Thanks for the advice! i'm definitely going to buy a seat cover, I hadn't even considered it! I know she's been in the footwell of my dad's Porsche but i'm not sure how much room a full grown lab will have in there haha.

Even a thin cushion on the seat first if you're conscious of the leather. The seat cover I have is very tough and strong and he hasn't made any marks on the chairs from sitting there.
There's a photo on here of a lab in a Z4. (Which I can't find now) but worked ok.

Wasn't this one WLH but this is a very good example of our four legged friends in our cars!

I always keep a towel in the boot and a seat belt attachment for one of mine. The others not too keen, but one of them loves the wind through her fur!

Large hound (see avatar) has not and never will go in the Zed. He has his own luxury accommodation in the rear of our Discovery.

Y'see a coupe solves the problem

I have a German shepherd and a bichon ( little and large ) ....... and neither of them us ever been in the Zed lol

I used to have Emily..

..my now passed Miniature Schnauzer in my e85 and also the e89. As the e89 has lots of gloss surfaces and nappa leather she never moved. She sat on a seat cover with a harness.

With Penny..

.. our 2 year old, she sat fine on a dog bed with harness on. I covered the gloss centre console with a small throw. It's a pita but workable.

Since I rescued Daisy..

..and now have two, they don't settle in the Z so I bought the new c class merc estate where they now have their own plush bedroom in the back. Much easier.

Took a double take then!

My dog is a chocolate lab, thought someone had put her in my car till I realised my car is grey!

Nice to see so many pooches riding shotgun haha.
