Does your roof fold flush? - Newer Cars

Hi I've just had my hydraulic system on my '05 car replaced and it soen't sit 100% flush with the back of the car, it's about an inch or so above where it should sit.
My question is do the newer cars (which have a diferent hydraulic system and no roof catch) roofs sit flush when lowered? Or has anyone like me had their hydraulic system replaced and if so does your roof sit flush when lowered?

My dealer is insisting that there is nothing wrong with my roof and that the new roof system doesn't sit flush like the older cars???

You are OK.

Mine is May 2005 model. The roof is fully automatic. The cover of the roof (when open) does NOT sits flush to the same level with the top level of the car behind. Actually it stays 0.5 - 1 inch upper.

We had the same discussion in our Greek forum and we checked our Z4s and have the same effect.

So dont worry.

Mine in an '06 and the roof doesn't fit quite flush, but any I've seen are the same. Though a pic might help.... is your's like this?

Thanks for the feedback, the dealer has done some investigating and it seems that newer cars sit fairly flush while cars of my age tend to be about 1" or so above flush when fitted with a replacement hydraulic system. Althopugh not ideal he said there is no chance of the wind catching it as the hydraulic system holds it in place.

I'm not 100% happy with this but it doesn't seem like there is anything I can do about this.

My 2007 top sits like this also. On my old 2003 the top was defintely flush. It appears to be fine and the light goes off, but it fit a lot better on my 2003. I also noticed that on my 2007 when the top is up the inner headliner is making contact on the outersides of the roll hoops. I do not remember this being the case on my 2003.

Yes, my headlining touches both sides too but I've been told the material is heavier duty than previous....
