Does your engine 'Sneeze' on shutdown?

After my car has been on a little drive, around 2 seconds after switching the engine OFF i hear a sound similar to a sneeze! Does anyone else's do this?

It basically sounds like a pressure release of air lasting ~1second, probably from the crank case ventilation valve. The thing is, the pressure should never get this high in the first place should it?

Im starting to think mine is quite heavily blocked even though there is suction from the oil cap when removed. It certainly seems common on the M52/54 engines and big cause of oil use.

i know what you mean by 'sneeze' and mine does it as well, but unfortunately i dont know if its something its meant to do or not!?

oh bless.... maybe your car has a cold :P

If you lived up north, you'd understand how a car could catch a cold! :D

EdButler, mine does it too, and I think it's been talked about before. Try holding your clutch in when you turn it off (if we're talking about the same sneeze of course - mine might be clearing it's throat)

I know exactly what you mean..like a very faints Woooowww.. it's hard to explain over the internet lol

The weird thing is, it doesnt do the sneeze (it still hisses though) if you remove the oil cap! Must be PCV related, probably knackered! Im probably gonna order a new one to try!
