Does this exhaust sound stock / how does yours sound?

does this exhaust sound stock to you?

I've only ever been in the one M, and that's mine so I'm not sure what 'normal' sounds like :lol: But in absence of knowing otherwise, other than mods I've made, mine was stock when bought and I've held off any major mods other than the intake..

a mate of mine is insisting it doesn't sound it having been in a few and I can see where he's coming from when listened to next to something like this:

but the boxes look stock, no obvious rewelding etc so I'm curious..

Does it sound louder and more pops than stock like my mate thinks, or does yours sound pretty similar?
 
Might depend on the age, some of the internal sound wadding came out of my M3 after 50k miles or so and it started sounding a lot more like the louder car with more pops and bangs especially when cold so they could both be standard.

Fuel type and whether the car is warmed up also make a big difference to how loud and lumpy it sounds.
 
A bit of a newbie, but it just sounds cold to me? Again, versus mine.
 
Sounds stock to me, but as above wadding can degrade over time and alter the sound of the car. As far as I know mine is 100% stock but has a really nice noise inside the cabin - not loud, but good.

Not sure whether I want to mod it or not - I plan on taking the car around Europe and don't really wanna have something to loud for cruising at 100+mph
 
The second car is US spec and I believe they have a second set of catalytic converters; feasibly that could quieten the sound.
 
Sounds stock to me as well. Was the Sport button on? On mine, especially after some hard driving, made even stock the exhausts pop and crackle in the same way.
