Bit off topic and one for the small claims court but I was at school with Dominic Cummings in Poland in 1977. He was a proper weird little get back then too as I remember.

Can post up a pic of him from back then if any interest?

Maybe Cummings wasn't weird. Might be that he was just a badly nourished schoolchild. Was this because of Piotr Jaroszewicz policies or because Kazimierz Deyna didn't speak up?

Sorry I've rattled your cage. :poke:

If I'd wanted to "vent" I could've gone off with a tirade. Whilst Rashford is free to make whatever points he wishes I find it incredible that the media somehow feel that the government has to jump to his demands even if I were in total agreement with him.

With regard to the free school meals issue: we already have a large social services network throughout the whole of the UK as part of our civil service and surely they already have the means and infrastructure to identify and support the children most at risk, if they're doing their jobs properly. I doubt if anyone needs to starve these days whilst we have an obesity epidemic.

No idea. I think it was General Jaruzeltski in power at the time and it was when Solidarinose movement kicked in with Lek Walenska.
But yeah, the food there, usually from SuperSam, was definitively sh!te.
Happy days.

I was going to leave out the arrows and suggest guessing which weird-looking little get it is in the pic. But I think that applies to all of us. loool!
Check out all those 70's flared collars! Fabulous!

See now you've actually said something, quite unbelievably naive imho but Im sure you have your reasoning still unsure about the point of the poll.. keeping vulnerable kids fed is the least we as a developed nation should strive to do

I got that too..and I agree  That said the genuine cases of which there are many should be looked after, there is a big difference between not being able to feed your kids and spending food money on luxuries

Absolutely. Buckshotting welfare is not the answer; the vulnerable kids are the ones who slip through the net. A targeted approach is required where those at risk are identified and fed whilst being watched whilst they eat, to ensure they don't go hungry. That needs to be focussed and only our welfare system can identify and act, with the assistance of the schools where "at risk" kids can be readily identified.

Marcus Rashford is not in a position to act. That was my point.

I honestly do not see the harm in him raising awareness, there's no one size fits all in any policies is there, I'm pretty sure the guy thinks he is trying to help vulnerable kids not those who use the welfare state as a lifestyle
