Does the e89 have roof drains?

When I venture into the e85 section I see a lot about clogged drains and damaged roof motors, does the e89 have similar drains and issues?

There is a problem with these though as i've just booked mine in for its first service and they told my they will be changing the boot drains as there is a risk of them flooding the boot well.

Is this different to (or the same as) the known "rear vent" issue which lead to water in the battery / boot area?

As mentioned, the designs of the two cars bear little similarity. On the e85 the motor sat under the roof itself, where rain water could drain by it, when the drains were blocked, these areas filled with water and the motor eventually corroded and stopped working.

On the e89, the side vents are to allow for air to pass through the boot in order to remove any battery fumes and so forth. These were found to allow water in under some circumstances, though I've not heard of it being sufficient to penetrate the battery area (not to say it couldn't). These vents were a recall, the roof motors on the e85 was not.

In any event, should the motor ever fail on the e89, it can be accessed easily for replacement in the boot floor. On the e85 it required the entire canvas roof to be removed. IMHO, its not a concern for the e89, I'm sure there are other weak areas that will show over time, each car has its own common faults.

Same as I believe. When booking the service I was told that the car would also undergo a comfort up grade, I said oh ok what's that. I was then told the drains\vents in the boot can allow water in and make the boot very wet.

the foam around my roof motor was saturated when i bought my car. I checked the rear vent recall had been done, which it had.
I concluded the wet foam had not been replaced / dried at this point, so took it out & dried it and it remains dry to date.
