Does it go like this?

My 645 and 650 series gave me the same fuel consumption as my 35i....not sure how that works. I drive the Z more harder I guess, so...happy with my lot

In terms of the Porsche thing. I always wanted one from a young age but getting to drive a fair amount of their "special" versions including GT3s, GT3RS, S models and the Spyder I have to say I'm really not fussed. They are good but the thrills and sense of occasion needs to be greater at those kinds of prices.

I actually want one of these, saw one parked around here tonight :o Would have loved to hear it running :o

But not going to happen anytime soon  Hm an M would be nice, happy with my 3.0 though :D

The only thing I covet is an 8C, but no RHD so we'll settle for the 35i

I plan to keep mine until I wear it out. Would I like more power? Sure. Do I want to pay for it? No, I'm good, thanks.

Not sure what I'll do when it's worn out, not keen on owning anything else right now. Hopefully something new an different will be available when the time comes.

I'm not sure the pattern suggested here is appropriate to Zed owners at all.

The only movement I see is:
A few members start with 2.0's and move to a bigger engine when they can afford insurance.
A few crave the ///M and move into one from any engine size
Some move from roadster to coupe and a few the other way.

Most seem to stick with the engine and layout they have for ages and don't swap, are happy with it and maintain, improve and cherish it.

I nearly bought an M when i got mine... Even though i was only after a 2.5si!

The small boot in the M was the deciding factor.

I have always wanted a porsche... And always said i wont get married till i own a porsche... I'll have to break that promise now, or find a new gf!

Judging on what you just said on the Bank Robber thread, you may have to :D

Love my 3.0. I expect to have it for a long time to come. Mine gets daily use and I do not understand those who only use their Z's on the weekend. :D :tumbleweed: :D

Well, your weather might have something to do with that :)

In my case, my work is either in my local office (walking distance) or in another country - so no real need to drive during the week and certainly not to any shops.

i have an mzr always wanted 911 turbo .but masive running costs and weak engines etc .in my confort zone with 2 sons that are bmw tecs.one is the m specialists at his dealership the car is fantastic exhausts tips are always clean the engine is perfect lick the rest of the car  :driving:

To be honest, if i was going to "upgrade from a 3.0 and was spending "M" kinda money...id probably get a TVR Tamora or a T350, The 3.0 is a great compromise btween running costs and performance.

Surely you ant compare a Zm to many other cars in the same price and performance bracket as they are everyday cars.

I wouldn't use any TVR as an everyday car.

I love the T350, but it's still £20k+ and don't know how I'd feel about driving it as an everyday. Guy on my road has a TVR, it sounds epic and would love one myself but I'd be scared of the reliability and costs involved. But this is only because of what everyone else says, I've no personal experience of owning a TVR.

Saw a Sagaris in orange the other day, well in fact I heard it first then saw it. Now that is one amazing car. But I think I've reached the peak of my car ownership with the MC so will have to be a lottery win for me! I've scoured Autotrader/PH etc, I cannot find a suitable alternative to the M either...(not that I want an alternative, was just trying to find one for this thread!)

My daily driver used to be a Tamora, its as practicle as a Zr but so expensive to run so YES it is compareable to a ZrM and the same can be said for a T350 and a low milage ZcM..............
Tamora never let me down...had a Cerb also, never let me down either.
