Does Frost/Snow hurt the car?

Can anyone tell me their experiences with Frost and snow with the Z4?

Winter is coming here and I'm debating whether or not to put the car permanently into the garage for the winter or not. I do plan to drive it once every 2 weeks or so to make sure everything is good. I plan to change the oil out and make sure everything is ready for the snow but I will not be driving this car in any conditions with snow on the ground.

My biggest concerns are the wear and tear of the parts you can't see under the body. (rust damage, oil contaminats, etc...)

My car is parked outside 24/7.

Id say not driving it at all would do more harm than the frost since things are more likely to seize up. The cold weather on its own shouldnt do any harm, other than taking longer for the engine to heat up (wear) and the effects of salt from the roads.

Z4s are robust. They will stand the weather well.

Some on here leave their cars out all year round.

I'll be tucking mine away in the garage for periods but taking it out for regular runs. Don't worry

It's not frost or snow I worry about but salt. The underneath of my 03 is in amazing condition for the car's age and I put a lot of that down to low winter usage on treated roads.

Yeah, salt is the big no-no.
If you use salted roads during the winter, regularly spraying the underside of the car with a pressure washer or even just a garden hose is a good idea.

Had mine 5+ years from new and its fine, been left out in all weathers its entire life but in Wales they're thankfully a bit tight with the salt LOL
