Does eibach pro kit ruin the ride

Hi all
I have a 2004 2.5i se and I assume I am running standard suspension.
I am wondering if I fit an eibach pro kit will it ruin the ride quality and do I need to mess with the shock absorbers. My car is 12 years old but only done 32000 miles with 18 alloys and standard tyres

I fitted eibach's to my old e86. Ride improved imo tightened the car up a good bit. You might notice a bit stiffer ride if you have se spec at the moment. Eibach's aren't to low & don't ruine the car. :thumbsup:
 
In a word: no.

If you wish to do a proper job then consider renewing all of your suspension consumables as they will probably be a little tired after 12 years.
My rear shocks were shot at 70k/9 years - yours may be in better condition but if you are planning on keeping the car for a good few years I say make the investment and enjoy the reward. Mine felt what I can only imagine it did new once I replaced all the worn bits.
 
I've just fitted eibach springs and new bilstein b4 shocks all around. I can't recommend this enough. It's completely transformed the car. I also changed all 4 top mounts, ARB bushes, drop links and control arm bushes.
£410 for shocks and springs and £150 on all the bushes.

If you're going to change the springs you might as well do it all. Well worth it!
 
Are the B4s suitable for lowered springs. I've read some comments that Bilstein recommend B8 even with standard sport springs?
 
Well they would, wouldn't they. They may wear the B4s a little faster but you can use them. I went with B8s as I'd rather do the job once for the effort it takes.
 
As scooba_steve said, the b4's are fine and may just wear out quicker, but I wanted a bit more comfort. Otherwise go straight for the bilstein b12 which includes springs and dampers. Again, don't forget to buy new suspension top mounts.
 
I wasn't impressed with the ride so i've ditched the run flats, installed power flex bushes all round, B12 pro kit, and upgraded the rear mounts with these:

And a bog standard Sachs front top mount as the old one was a bit notchy

The handling is much better, loads of grip, rides a little lower and is certainly firmer: I like it (just as well having parted with the cash). :thumbsup:
