Does cruise control require coding after retrofitting?

As above, the BMW retrofit instructions says it does, but I’m sure I saw on here it’s plug and play?

Fitted mine recently and it was just plug and play and works fine..... although it does not give you any light on dashboard to indicate that it is on when in use, i have seen on previous posts that this is normal on the Z4

That’s what I though, just wondered why the retrofit said it (I’ve also got to retrofit cruise control to my 1 series which DOES need coding)

The coding just updates the vehicle order. I've fitted a dozen or so and never coded any of them.
