Does anyone use INPA ?

I've (well, my dad has) got the software, all set up following the instructions provided on the disk. I'm using a K-DCAN cable from a laptop. It's definitely reading as I'm getting IGNITION: ON and BATTERY: ON. However when I select E85 as the model, go into Body and Air Conditioning (to turn off transport mode) I'm getting the following error:

Group file : D_005B.
SYS-0005: OBJECT FILE NOT FOUND.
Program will be stopped!

I've tried reinstalling the software. I've also tried alternative software from BimmerGeeks.net with the same result. And I've tried reinstalling the drivers for the cable and making sure the Com port is correct and Latency set to 1.

Does anyone have an idea where I'm going wrong?

I seem to remember that the ignition on etc indicators are "fake" in the cracked software, as the battery voltage does not read correctly?

When you press F6 to choose E85, what are you clicking next? You need to click "Functional Jobs" I believe off the top of my head, rather than choose Engine, Transmission etc
 
Is it a VMware image if so I think you need to start it from the console and make sure the usb driver is set for the correct comm port. I think there’s some you tube videos about

I don't know if it's cracked or not, he did pay for it but then..... ebay :?

But from what I can tell the indicators are reading something because if I use an incorrect com port then I don't get any ignition or battery indicators. I'm saying this like I know what I'm talking about though when in reality I know very little.

From selecting the E85 I've gone straight to "Body", definitely not gone through "Functional Jobs" so that could be it. Just went out to try it and the laptop battery died on me! So I'll stick it on charge for ten minutes and then give it another go.

I'm running it on an unused Windows 7 laptop.

Nope I'm just getting Object File errors, which sounds like a software issue rather than an issue with the cable, but I could be wrong :cry:

Well I managed to get into INPA, I can see all the errors but can't clear all of them and I'm not seeing Transport Mode.

Anyway, I've decided to give this a try https://www.pss-autosoft.net/. It's cost me £30 like, but it looks quite promising so far and crams everything in to one neat package taking most of the hard work out of it. It includes PSS, EDIABAS 6.4.3, EDIABAS 6.4.7, DIS GT1 v44, DIS GT1 v57, SSS along with pre configured virtual machines, Virtual CloneDrive, GhostScript, PDF Software, ddrLPD and their own mods for ease of use and enhanced functionality, and plenty of documentation. I know I won't need all that but as an idiots guide to coding it's nicely done up to this point. And they've included TeamViewer to drop in and help if needs be.

I'm having a bit of trouble downloading SSS at the moment, I think in part to their servers... But I'll report my opinion of it overall when it's all set up.
