I'm shopping for Toyo RA-1 tires for my Z4 3.0si Coupe for the track. I was looking for 235/45/17 fronts and 255/40/17 rears.
I have a line on a used set of 235/45/17's all around. Has anyone tracked their Z4 on a "square" setup?
This setup is common for E36 M3's, but I'm not sure if I'm going to end up very limited on rear end grip since we have a shorter wheelbase. I have no issue with controlling an oversteering car, but don't want it to be rediculous. I also know that the non-sport package Z4's come with a square setup, so I'm thinking it may not be a problem.
Any EXPERIENCE based input would be appreciated!!
My hesitation to buy new tires stems from not knowing how much I'm going to track the Z4 this year... I thought it would be easier to take this car to the track when I'm just instructing than to haul the SpecE30. I might do it once and be totally dissatisfied with a stock, squishy, heavy street car (all relative to the SpecE30).
