Does anyone know what this means?

The EML light came on and the car went into limp mode, the garage did an oil change which solved the issue for a couple of days. Then they changed the timing chain tensioner which solved the issue for over a week. It came on again yesterday and I had a flat battery. I’ve fitted a new one, the car is not in limp mode now but the EML light is still on and showing these codes...

Does anyone have an idea on what needs to be done please? It’s an ‘07 2.0 e85.

Thanks in advance.

Well it probably just needs a new battery tbh.. These cars are extremely sensitive to low voltages and often throw up all sorts of random codes when they are knackered

Edit.. Sorry only just noticed you have changed the battery.. Have you tried clearing the codes.. Calling

As others have said, maybe just the battery.

If it is the vvt motor let me know I have a genuine one that is basically new.

Another point I forgot to mention is it only ever happens when I start the car. It’s not happened while driving. Not sure if that’s relevant.

So the VVT is variable valve-tronic? I’m basically a monkey with a hammer when it comes to mechanics, but at least I’ve got something to go to the garage with.

Thanks very much.

How much does the motor cost?

I believe I paid £280 from BMW but that was a trade price due to my close friend owning a garage. Not sure how much more they are to buy as a consumer.

I’ve seen some on eBay for £40. New, delivered and 1 year warranty. Won’t be genuine parts mind. How much are you wanting for yours?

I’d be looking for £60.

my guess is that the car has been neglected oil change wise , the valvetronic likes clean oil, its probably clogged up.
