Pretty much as the title says. My Z is still in the garage due to its manifold so my summer topless fun shall be marine based :D
Should be picking up my first boat next week if survey is all fine. Pretty excited but a total newbie so would welcome any tips/hints etc

Excuse the horrendously poor song but this post just made me think solely of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avaSdC0QOUM
:D

On topic: Used to have a rib with motor but it's gone now!

I'm another boat newbie with a 2.7m Honwave and Honda BF5 for wildlife watching and generally messing about in the Lake District etc
Possibly best £2k I've ever spent in £/ :) ratio

Yes, I used to have a Thundercat (Like a Zap Cat but better)

Brilliant fun, and extremly fast! Brilliant fun coming out of Poole harbour with all the very very expensive powerboats and overtaking them as you come out of the speed limit!

I sold it last summer. Really miss it on nice sunny days!!

Yeah its just for something a bit different. Family stay on an island in the Clyde so ideal activity. And i have wanted one for years so i thought i may as well live now rather than worry about what i will do in 5/10/20 years :)

I've got a narrow boat moored on the River Soar in Leicestershire.

Not really the sort of boat you are talking about though, I expect. Mine is 32ft long and has a 3 cylinder 25hp diesel engine.

DAMMIT I WANTED TO POST THAT :headbang:

My buddy has a decent boat moored in the South of Spain. He showed me how to make a £1m with it.

Seems all you need to do is buy a £2m boat and moor it up, fuel it pay a crew for a few years and bingo - you have a £1m

26ft Snapdragon cruising yacht, rags and stick. Not interested in gas guzzling stinking mobo's. Sailing is much more relaxing, cheaper and you meet a better type of people. :poke:
( I have met some nice mobo owners ) :P

What about folks who have a sailing boat and a couple of 600hp Volvo diesel engines somewhere below deck. Does that count?

I can only dream of the joy of having a sailing boat sitting on a flat calm day unable to be used. Like having a coupe in the sunshine :fuelfire:

That would be a BIG yacht, if its wind powered via rags and sticks ........
