Does anyone blog?

I'm not particularly tech savvy (odd given my job) or even interested but I've been thinking about starting a blog based on what I do/my travels etc
Totally new at all this and I've only read a few blogs others have done so it's not something I know much about...
I don't even have a decent laptop/camera to start but figured it'll be something to do while on the plane as a way as keeping track of what I've done, more for myself over anything as well as giving my mum something to read so she knows what I'm up to rather than asking me a million times
And hey maybe one or two people would be interested in an insiders view as to what goes on in the f1 pit lane

Does anyone else do one? Or have any advice? Or anyone good at web design/blog design
As I said I know next to f all! But I'd love to have one even if it's just to learn about tech :)

I know nothing of such things either so can't help you there Woots but please do a blog, as a huge F1 fan I'd love to hear more of what goes on in the pits on race weekend and the travelling etc, it would be fascinating so I hope you figure a way to do it. Great idea!

Best of luck this weekend, I'm sure 'mad Max' will slot in the seat easily and wring the most out of the car. Is he on your side of the garage as looking at your sig pic that's Kvyats lid I think yes? Or are you with Danni R?

If you want to do a blog use wordpress end of.

I've built loads of websites using wordpress, I would say it's about the best blog focussed website software on the market and the best part is its free! You would need a domain and hosting which could be had cheap and a theme to skin it with and again either cheap or free there are some very professional looking ones.

Most of the sites I have done are for mates for their businesses so look like a normal business website but with a blog integrated which is easy to do with wordpess but it's even easier to make it as an out and out blog. Most of the big hosting companies have 1 click installer setups so you buy the domain and hosting and then press a button and you have a wordpress site then all you have to do is pick a theme and you are good to go.

There's very little learning curve as the user interface is dead simple, not much different to creating a document in microsoft word just type your text, upload a photo and click publish and your blog post is up there on the www

For hosting I use domainmonster as it's chaep and reliable and for a basic package (all you'll need) if you prepay for 3 years it comes to under £110

I read Joe Saward's blog on an almost daily basis so would be very interested to hear from the other side of the paddock so hope you get one up and running!

If you need any more info feel free to drop me a PM

Great idea, but just how much can you write about crusty socks...

+1 for Wordpress

but you don't need to host it yourself, just sign up for an account on Wordpress.com and start blogging mate :)

Shows how much I know  I thought if it was a .wordpress.com domain you still had to pay hosting to wordpress but most of the ones I've done are for businesses so they wanted their own domain so that wouldn't have worked.

Now I think about it even Joe Saward has a .wordpress domain name for his

I'm guessing if you ever wanted to move from a .wordpress to your own hosted at a later date you could still do it in 5 minutes with wpclone anyway so definitely go for @stuartC's suggestion
