Anyone come across this ///MR on their travels.

What do you think?

I like the imola on imola look and it looks like a nice low mileage example but at a price premium.

I’d want some pics of the underside as it looks like it’s spent a lot of time in Scotland.

All I can say is watch for rust. As an ex-Edinburgh resident, I know the damage caused by the salt on the roads. If you get the registration you should be able to check for this.

That looks great and the mileage is low but it's hardly a bargain.

As others have said I'd be a bit concerned about the underside of a car that has lived North of the border all it's life, but with that mileage it may never have been out in bad weather!

Good luck anyway.

If it is as good as it seems then a car like that, at that money, needs to be a 'garage queen' and hope the bottom doesn't fall out of the market in the next 10 years.
If you bought it to 'use' it would be an expensive purchase in the short or medium term IMO.
Collector's car money, but is it worthy of being a 'collector's car'?

That's my biggest worry. I had known my old ///MR from new, I bought it from my dentist. It did the miles, but it never went out of the garage if there was salt on the roads, in it's entire life. I won't be buying another unless it looks like mine did underneath. ie virtually no rust.

Thanks' for the feedback guys.

That's going to be quite a challenge to find given how old they are now. But hopefully the right car is out there waiting for you so good luck finding it.

They’re certainly out there, this was the Imola M I recently picked up, garaged all its life obviously, I couldn’t believe how clean it was underneath, barely any rust anywhere.

Mmmmm, that Imola is nice and no Sat Nav

Given the mileage I’d say it’s not seen much winter use so you may get lucky and it’s like John’s. Bit too far away to go and have a look underneath for you. Re the price, yes strong but IMO if you’re going to use this one as much as the last, with the mileage you’re giving yourself a head start with it being lower. It would not bother me at all putting the miles on this even if it did affect the value. You’re all about using yours and having a good a starting car as possible is what I’d be doing :driving:

Before I actually clicked on it I thought it was going to be a blue one I saw yesterday, exact same money but 74k, rods done and other bits an pieces. If all stacks up I persist would rather the Imola

It's been on and off for sale for a couple of years. Last time it was for sale it had some super budget tyres on it and sat for months.

Very rare tho 1 of 3 sister car to mine.

I love the combo, imola is not an easy colour to keep nice shows marks a mile away unlike silver grey which doesn't show a mark. When its in top condition tho looks fab.

I have not seen a car at that price for years :o

My latest Z came from Scotland but I knew I would have a project on my hand as even the numberplate screws were a block of rust. I would not spend (over the) top money on a Scottish car though, ever.

Hmm, I think you may be just making a personal point that simply isn't true. I don't think that car, on that mileage, will have seen a winters road. I think that car is from lowland, centre of country Stirling. Probably nicer than something run around a coastal area. I haven't seen it except on Autotrader. But try not to bash a whole countries cars with sweeping statements. It looks lovely to me.

Mine is from Aberdeen, the worst rust in the country by those stats

Yes I agree, Aberdeen is both coastal and rural enough to need a lot of winter salt/grit. I'm sure many people look after their cars in the city though. The red car isn't from Aberdeen according to Autotrader. But you said Scotland, its a bit of an exaggeration to claim all cars are blighted more than other parts of the country.

It is true you cannot tarnish all cars the same that have been in a rural/ costal location, however it is something that needs to be considered
