Does a back box delete effect emission levels?

Hi Guys,

I was looking at getting a back box delete done for my 2007 E85 2.0i, I believe that the the back box on the exhaust system is just a muffler to deaden the noise, if that's so I was thinking that it wouldn't affect the emissions levels for my NCT, or MOT in the UK as the front and middle boxes contain the CATs, just wanted to get some advice on if that's correct or not? Thanks!

You are correct, the only thing that will change is the noise

Also good for the MOT, mine has passed twice now, just don’t over Rev the engine when you arrive

You shouldn't be over-revving the engine at ANY time
