Hi all-test drove a june 06 2.0 today,and to raise/lower roof i had to press and hold the roof button-is this correct?-thanx

Hi you have to hold it down untill it is ether up or down. (roof that is) Well you have on mine and its a 07 2.0

Yes it is, i wondered the same thing, i was looking at one just yesterday.

Put a deposit down today :D exciting stuff.

You can have the roof controlled from your keyfob, the dealer won't do it but an indy with right equipment can

Some Z's come with standard (as does mine) automatic roof down operation by holding the unlock button on the key fob. Not sure why all don't seem to have it.

Health and Safety mean there is no official roof up control form the key.

Standard operation is to hold the button down to open or close the roof.

As Redzedfour states you can have the the car reprogrammed using Autologic or similar at a good indy to open and close the roof from the key fob keeping the open button pressed to open the roof and vice versa to close. MInd it doesn't matter how long he presses the button for now nothing good will happen :poke:

Or

And do a search on the forum as it has been covered many times you can buy a Reinhold (think that's how it's spelt) module to allow opening by pressing the open button on the keyfob three times and to close press the close button three times, Reinhold also do a module to be used in conjuction with the open close module to allow one touch opening.

The other way of lowering the roof is put the key in the door lock and twist to unlock and hold windows drop and roof drops it worked on my 53 roadster. To clarify RichardG's post i was a roadster owner but have turned coupe, until the next meet when the sun is out and the roadster boys have got there tops down :P

Dealer will set opening ( on a Facelift certainly ) but not closing ....a safety issue

Hi, having to hold the roof button used to drive me batty. But not anymore as I installed a reinhold one touch module. Works a charm and was very easy to install. Best mod so far. Don't have the URL where I bought it on my iPhone but pm me if you want it and I'll get it for you.

I installed the remote Reinhold version for keyfob operation, 3 clicks on the key and get in the car while it opens itself or 3 clicks of the key to close while you walk away from the car, and it all takes care of itself.

One of the best mods available.

mine came from the factory with the roof down enabled from the keyfob.. however i had to get the roof up programmed by an indy.

However i also have the reinhold... so dont think twice... three clicks and walk away!

Reinhold Modules are the way to go but are more expensive now due to the exchange rate, bought both for £115 delivered 3 years ago a bargin compared to todays prices.

I used Burton Motor Workshop in... well burton on trent! Cost me £25 to have a few things reprogrammed (roof, triple indicator and auto door lock) Also got my first service there... very good service and price.

Bought the reinhold from a friend who sold his E46... took maybe 10 mins to fit.. longest part was getting my soldering iron warmed up!

lol cheers bud. sounds like a very good price for reprogramming, will have to pay them a visit as soon as i get my zed up and running again :(

Hi guys.
You can fit yourselves a module that will give you the one touch roof operation, see here.

Not seen this one before and seems considerably cheaper than the Reinhold one touch module.
I wonder if they will come up with a remote roof module which is cheaper than Reinhold.
