Do Z4 Coupe owners have more fun?

You know I'm often driving along in my Z4 coupe and I notice a lot (because let's face it there are a lot) of Z4 roadster owners looking over and looking really grumpy, just like so unhappy. They look right at me (or at least I think they do) and I think maybe it's the small boot that makes them unhappy.

I often hear remarks like "why have you got a two seater coupe, how will you get the Labrador in the back of that" often by people with a Labrador who have never had a two seater coupe.

You know I love all cars no matter if they have a roof or not and I've owned a few coupes I can tell you. My god, how good do I feel when I'm driving my coupe on a road when the engine is running and I know where I'm going.

Show me your coupes you coupe people.

I hope no roadster people ruin this amazing thread by posting things on it. I mean what right do they have.

I dont care which car is better, but regarding that link/article in that last topic where it was said that the coupe and roadster were designed at the same time, this article contradicts or at least nuances that:
http://www.evo.co.uk/bmw/z4/7827/bmws-cayman

" 'The Coupe wasn't part of our original strategy for the Z4,' confesses Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW's new director of design, who has taken over from the controversial Chris Bangle, 'but it was quickly clear to us that a coupe based on the roadster would work.'

Apparently, even before the Z4 roadster was introduced, unofficial sketches of possible coupe versions were circulating among the design team. The new car looks far less awkward than the cobbled-together previous-generation M-Coupe."

So it says at the beginning it was just a brainstorm with some sketches, not a definitive design with all the structural corporate go-aheads.
I dont know what to think of it, but obviously only one of them can be true. Internet informantion can be very contradictive

Since Z4's are kind of rare around my area, and since there only like 7k of them in the states (more? certainly not the numbers in Euro)..... spotting one is rare, at best.
However. I have seen one other in my area with a soft top, even pulled up alongside them with the soft top down today. It was 96 degrees out, very hot, high humidity and the driver did not look very comfortable.

So two things came to mind.
1) He is not a forum member here as he didn't wave when I rolled my passenger window down and we made eye contact, cause I waved with a smile.
2) He only dives it in sunny weather regardless of the uncomfortable conditions (cause he's a hard ass that way), sunny and hot and down right miserable heat cause his motors kaput as it sits in the garage all winter and on rainy days.

Me, I had the windows up and the Air on just smiling and driving along till I saw the ass end of his 2008 SE so I sped up to get along side him and did as I mentioned above.

His frowning face when he looked over and saw me waving and smiling said boat loads. He was not happy and he was miserable cause he was sweating his butt off. I just rolled the window back up, howled to myself and passed him and kept on going.

I can do anything a roadster can do... burn my tires, drift around corners, and run close to red line before shifting. Alas, I can do it in total comfort, all year round. Windows up, with heat, air or windows down.
Coupes might have been an after thought for arguments sake. But it is the best of the lot. Anyone can get a soft top. Few get a Coupe.

So for the OP....My Coupe.

Coupes are fire! Roadster owners are terrified!

*generic football chant*

Zeld4, this really made me laugh out loud!
I think the best z4s are the coupe and roadster :D
On a serous note it's each to their own, I love the look of the coupe, particularly from the rear, (always did like a wide arse!) And a soft top would be wasted on me, had a boxster s once and never removed the hardtop!

Brilliant thread! But why the pictures of hatchbacks, this is what a proper Z4 coupe looks like :poke:

Hahaha brilliant parody on the original, pointless, self congratulatory thread.

Heres my car history, other than the E36 320i saloon and my current X4, every other car was a 2 door coupe in a way.. Says it all.

And yes, you coupe owners do have fun. Loads of it. Much like owners of 'click-a-bricks' have *almost* as much fun as those with Lego :p
