A weird question, but I walked past the Zed last night and noticed that the auto-folding wing mirrors weren't folded symmetrically, the passenger's side was folded in more than the driver's side. (pic to follow soon)

Does this happen to anyone else's Zed? I've owned the car for two years now and either I've only just noticed this and I'm not very observant, or something isn't quite right.

Edit: There could be a difference between auto folding and manual folding, so adjusted the options for that.

What a strange discovery but it's true the passenger side sits further in with my electric folding mirrors. Reminds me of the old Mercedes W124 which had different size mirrors for the passenger and drivers side. I wonder if this was actually engineered by BMW to behave this way.

My passenger side folds closer to the door
Have you also noticed that the interior door pull handles are different?

Not checked mine, but my chewing gum does lose it's flavour on the bed post overnight :D

I parked my car in a multi-storey this morning and I can't stop noticing it now. It's the same for other manufacturers too. Very strange.

well thanks a bunch...now i have to look at that every time i pass the car :x #
Mine are not quite as obvious as yours...but theyre definitely different

And has anyone measured the difference yet?
Just for you I ventured out into the searing heat and took some measurements. 😉The drivers side is 11cm and the passenger side is 7cm from the same point. Difficult to tell from the photos though.

Exactly the same measurements here.
Assuming it is intentional / by design, I wonder if LHD cars are the same in reverse?
