Hardly anyone waves in Norfolk regardless of the situation. I waved at my wife once - Nothing! 😀

Waved to each other and pulled along side another zed at lights, i asked why is roof wasn't down (it was a really hot day last wik) he said it would be too ambiguous!! Then shot off! obviously not a member here.

If I see them quick enough, then I do wave or acknowledge the other Z. But responses are few and far between.
It it has become less over the years  E89 drivers are the worst. :poke:

Glad someone brought this up I wave or flash (from my e86) but nothing in return, I guess folks are going about their business and not keeping an eye out. My girlfriend has a R59 Mini and I remember another passing by with a very enthusiastic woman waving out the window at us

I think e89 owners are too old to respond quickly enough. Therefore any wave back is too late. 😁

I see very few others out my way but when I do, I wave. I’ve only had the Z4 since February of this year and only had the chance to wave twice, if I recall correctly...both waved back. Had a Z3 for 9 years before this car, I don’t recall any waves over those years.

This was always a big topic on motorcycle forums I belong to, of course you wave to riders on other brands...except Harley riders, they never waved to me nor I to them, I was usually on a Ducati...and most non-Harley riders wave, I’d guess 80%-ish.

To be honest I gave up on the wave thing after about a year of zed ownership after never getting a wave back. So imagine my surprise when about a week ago I was in the E89 on the A56 heading back from Warrington towards Cadishead when a grey E85 waved at me! I almost missed it as it was hidden in traffic coming the other way.

Always wave to other z4s. It's in my blood from having a jeep wrangler in the family for 20 years. Honestly been presently surprised at some that wave at me before I can get the wave up. There's only hand full of us in my area but with the price coming down there's been few more that've popped up. Really was surprises when few older model bmws wave at me in the bare none stock e82. Wasn't ready to throw the wave up in that. I figure if you are enthusiastic about your car you never know the one who doesn't wave back might get the itch after being waved to to want to learn more about why they're getting waved to or become more enthusiastic about their car.

Jeeps are also hit or miss. We always wave in it and it's typically more recent year runs that don't get it. Jeep actually sends out a pamphlet now to new purchasers telling them what the "it's a jeep thing" means and to wave. Hysterical that people need it spelled out to them rather than just return the kind wave in return.
