Do you wave??

New into Zed ownership. I’ve now twice given thumbs up to other Z4 drivers and one Z3. Not even a nod in return.

Are our cars not ‘classic’ enough to get waves yet?

I always wave if I'm in an open top and spot another sports car with the roof down. Usually get a wave back. :D

Occasionally I forget and wave from inside my Mazda2 Capella. At best not noticed. At worst they're straight on the phone to the funny farm.

Waved to another z4 last month for the first time and got a wave back.

Must admit as I drive a e86 I'm only inclined to wave to e85 and e86s

I wave, but have yet to receive more than a goldfish-like stare back, usually from under the closed roof :poke:
I must admit to now embellishing my waves to give them a slightly sardonic look.
When someone does finally wave back I shall be so astonished I'll probably become the goldfish!

My Z4 first mover 'waving' rules: It needs to look like an enthusiasts car, so generally E86s and Sport/lowered 3.0/3.0SI E85s get a nod or a lifted finger. Other E85s get the respect if they're 'pushing on' in an appropriate manner or a tasteful spec well presented in traffic. Deep blue E85 SIs get the full wave and nod. All other Z's get a good look and a smile, ready to reciprocate any movement from the other side.

I must admit, in moving traffic, trying to guess where the moron in a corsa or white van in front is going, I mistake Z’s for 1 series! I know you will all go :o but at a quick glance from the front they look ‘similar’ especially in a long queue, and by then it is too late. :slaphead: So if you have waved at an E86 Montego Blue in Shropshire, sorry, it may have been me! :driving:

Totally Agree with this 👆

Also I don’t get as many waves back in the Z4 as I did in previous Z3s I’ve owned maybe age of car thing.

Cos in a Z3 they can see you sticking out over the windscreen, but in a Z4 you're tucked in behind the reflection on the glass. :D

Hardly anyone waves in Norfolk regardless of the situation. I waved at my wife once - Nothing! 😀

I'd agree with that. Met the Norfolk crowd at Cromer for a run out.
At the end of it as we drove away we both waved to the rest, stood in a huddle by their cars.
Not a thing!
Couldn't even remember who we were!
