Do you sell the OEM bits when you upgrade?

As the title suggests, I'm looking to gauge opinion on whether people sell or keep their OEM bits as/when they upgrade?

When I upgrade my bikes I tend to keep the bits as they are relatively easy to store but, now I've started on the car, things are a little more difficult to keep around - SWMBO will be none too chuffed if I keep the current stack of wheels in the conservatory long term.

If you were buying a car, would you be bothered if the bits wasn't available to put it back to standard?

I've only changed my wheels really but I would always keep my OEM parts, when I sold my 911 I removed my RS steering wheel and put the original back on, before the guy left I asked him if he would like it before I put it on eBay, he said yes and gave me another £200, I wouldn't have got £200 extra if I'd have sold it with the car and given him the original

I've kept everything so far, though none of it is really bulky and things like the badges and the whip antenna were not in fantastic shape to begin. Most of my mods are additions rather than replacements tbh so not many OEM parts sitting around. Still got the original springs if a new owner wants them to put back on, and if I changed my wheels I'd find someplace to keep the 108s. If I changed the skirts they'd be a problem to store though.

Should have said, I'd be happy buying a car with non-OEM bits if it was to my taste.

Thats my thinking, should I ever want to sell the car, I would initially try to sell it as is. If that fails it would go back to OEM and I would sell the bits separately.

A lot of people don't like modified cars and they can be very hard to sell. Personally I keep everything that is non-standard, and to be honest never do non-OEM mods anyway. Also remember that mods rarely add any value to the car so you're often better off selling them separately to recoup some of the cost.

What do you mean if you buy some wheels :poke:

I have a tendency to keep but my garage is starting to feel the strain hence I am trying to punt some of my parts. Usually keep (Hording others call it) but now trying to learn new habits.

I'm selling my 224's, mainly as I don't have the space but also as they are easy to pick up again.
