Eeeeerrrr no but can remember unclipping the front of radio/cd player & taking it with you :?

Just the front. My first one, you pulled the handle and took the whole unit with you.

I seem to remember one of my dads cars where the horn was one of the stalks with the indicators or wipers and you pressed the stalk in for the horn. Maybe the Maxi?
Also ashtrays in the rear door pockets.

Ahh the Maxi
The first 5 door hatch back with a 5 speed gearbox, Fundamentally floored car.................by the time you got it into 5th you had to change back into 4th to speed up again.
Way ahead of its time but not a complete package

Thank you for this thread :) it reminds me that I'm really quite young...

That what everyone thinks. But trust me, it's later than you think.

Haha, yeah, but still the only two things I recognise in this thread are Manual Choke, because I used to help my dad rebuild motorbike engines, and Champion Spark plugs, because they were shockingly bad.

Petrol going up to 7/6 a gallon so you could no longer get 3 Gallons for a quid (I was 12 at this point in time). Petrol crisis of 1971
Cars with NO RADIO !!!
I had a Moggie for a while, so I remember foot operated headlights.
Wobbly gear sticks that needed stirring to find a gear.
Having to ask 5 other Ford owners before you found another key that fitted your car.
Being able to rebuild your own engine and gearbox
Friday cars! :headbang:
