Do you get your car valeted?

I've been reading some threads about waxing etc and realised there's a company near me who offer a quite comprehensive valet for £35. If you factor in the time taken to do it yourself might be an hour, this works out really well (unless of course you enjoy doing it which is sometimes half the fun!) For £35 you get:

Pressure wash
hand wash with lambs wool mitts
autoglym shampoo
treat alloy wheels
dry bodywork, shuts and sills
hand polish body
autoglym radiant wax
interior/exterior glass
vacuum interior
wipe dash
treat tyres

Obviously "wipe dash" is quite superficial, but for the rest it looks like quite good value..
 
i couldnt bring myself to pay for someone to wash my car - its the tight scotsman in me, unless it was a full wash/clay/paint correct/valet - the works, which id be happy to pay quite a bit for, but that list is something you can your self, i find washing a car you find the scratches/damage, so at least you know anything new you did and not the car washers! maybe im a bit odd, but i enjoy seeing my handy work shine!
 
Here we call it "detailed" and I took mine in to the dealer last year. Will attempt to do once a year just to make sure she's clean (not to mention they will have a record of my doing so). Between visits there, plan to clay bar/wax in spring and fall.
 
I couldnt believe my eys on Saturday when I saw a had car wash guy using a pressure washer on the insides of a door to clean where the hinges are and around the bottom and lock plate etc, that is going to make a mess.

Also few weeks ago saw a nother compant drying a car with an Aqua blade did at least half the car and never checked the blade for debris etc.

If you want to look after your car do it yourself, £35 is to cheap for a good Valet IMO.

All the pros seem to do this. They do regrease the hinges but it seems a little OTT to me. Some photos show the leather seats getting a soak too!

It nice to have clean door shuts though.

Regarding the £35, it seems a good price and if you not overly bothered about the condition of your paint then its fine, problem is even being careful you can pick up a few marks or swirls so imagine someone doing it on a budget, the polish will nicely hide it for a few months though.
 
Do it yourself and your looking at a good 8 hours for a full detail by hand

£35 you get what you pay for :thumbsdown:
 
Think i'm gonna get my Z4M's paint corrected by Finerdetails, looking at about £190 for a full correction but this is with me claying the paint beforehand and then using my own products (probably Zaino) after the correction.

I know this guy from the diesel car forum, he started as a hobby, and then chucked is job in, got kitted out and went full time.
