Do you get road rage?

As per OP I get pavement rage as it really P's me off when you are passing a shop and people just literally come out of the shop and are suddenly in the space on the pavement where you were going to be in a second and you have to deviate around them. I summize that they probably drive in the same way. Also in supermarkets on a Friday and you get gangs of pensioners meeting up at the end of aisles having a chat about the old days and completely blocking the aisle to everyone else..anyway spleen vented back to my cave

and don't talk to me about the complete f*cking arsewipes who insist on walking erratically, veering from one side of the f*cking pavement to the other because they can't take their f*cking eyes off their f*cking mobile phones for two f*cking seconds....

Totally fucking seconded. W@nkers. Deserve tripped up at every fucking opportunity.

I consider myself to have a kind and considerate disposition when I'm driving. I let people out when I can and even feel guilty if I don't. I don't tail gate and rarely use my horn at all.
That being said, I get frustrated by people driving without due care and attention. Why sit in the middle lane when the left is empty? Why are you not able to control your speed so you're not going from 60 to 80 all the time? Why is lane discipline an alien concept? Do you have a rope attached to my rear bumper is that why you're so close?
Pretty standard items but I've closed the door on people undertaking me before now and they've subsequently tried to drive me off the road. I've only ever had one confrontation which has led to me stopping which ended pretty quick when the other guy realised he was facing 110kg plus of PI55ED off power lifter/Prop. This was at traffic lights and my wife had stalled the car, he got out and started shouting, I got out and he got back in his car.

People seem to get this metal box around them and they forget to be human beings. We all make mistakes and you get ar5eholes in all walks of life, how you react comes down to control of your temper.
That being said, people do seem to aim for BMW drivers. I used to get cut up less and let out of junctions more in my Honda. The other day, I had the roof down, tunes up and was enjoying the sunshine when the guy next to me started making the 'w4nker' gesture at me. I concede the point, I'd have thought the same thing on seeing me. However, I didn't give a toss as the sun was out, I had some tunes on that make me want to scream in happiness and I was driving a car which gives me more smiles per mile than miles per gallon.
Overall, bo11ocks to them all, I love my Z.

I'm a lot more zen now. I let Tailgaters pass me so they can be the bait for the traffic plod further up the road. I did mouth "wank@r" to some guy who carved me up yesterday though. He looked a little hurt, as if I'd offended him in some way...

That's what all that all that yoga does for you... is there enough space to sit in full lotus while stuck in motorway traffic jams

RODFUCKINGSTEWART!!!!

Ok, i've got your attention and he is relevant to this story. They've built a big concert venue near the place where i get onto the motorway. They changed all the roads around it to 1 way to make it easy for the idiots.

The other week there Rod Stewart was playing so the place was hoaching with menopausal old hags with no concept of the term "1 way". I pulled up to the red light at the junction leading onto the motorway slip road. A line of traffic was crawling across the junction at right angles. All people in a slow moving cue to get into the venue car park. Some bint in a 5 series is stopped at the junction with solid traffic in front of her. I'm watching her and i see her look at the car in front which is now just about half way over the junction but not moving. I then see her look at me, look at the lights (which change to amber) and she fucking pulls out and sits in the middle of the junction blocking me and everyone else now sat at a green light with her acting as a human road block.

I gesture for her to reverse as there is still nothing behind her. She winds down her window and explains that she is going in the forward direction. I less than politely inform her that she is not going anywhere and is just blocking traffic. She then tries to move 2 inches forward. I start getting creative with my swearing. She says "what are you going to do? Ram me?" then joins in the swear-a-thon.

I just don't get people like her :headbang:

I learned the hard way.
Always pi$$ed when I'd discover fresh door dents in the parking lot.
Happens way too frequently in Shopping Mall car parks where it's just part of the retail experience.

So Im driving my new Ford Mustang on a road trip into East Lansing, Michigan.
A quick stop at the Mall, before returning to Canada.
I always park carefully and give my car the maximum amount of clearance.
Upon returning I see this poorly parked car from Texas, and a fresh door dent.
Well ...Im not happy, so I wait...
Two women soon return from their coffee run and ignore my glare as they squirm into their car.
Itap on the driver's window and exclaim
"Lady ..Look what you did to my door !"
She rolls down her window and responds "So?"
A short discussion entales and she can't see what my issue is.
I respond with.."I guess if you don't give a s**t ..Well I don't give a s**t " I open my passenger door and whack her car with it.
Suddenly 'she' understands what Im talking about, and tries to get out of her car.
Now Im not that stupid to allow a suddenly angry female, holding a fresh cuppa hot coffee to 'stand and deliver'...
So I block her door with my body
She instructs her passenger to go get mall security...
I detect her sudden intimidation and fear when she realized that now she is alone with all 6'1" and 225 lbs of me ...
Not really wanting the arrival of Mall Security ..
I instruct my wife to clamor over the console and start the car..
Then I , while still blocking her door and coffee pitching arm with my body...
Climb into the now empty passenger seat and tell wifee to "Drive"

So that was a Plan that went south very fast.
Not worth it even if you are in the right.
Now with my Zed Roadster ...As Peter Fonda said in Easyrider..
"It's all about "Doin' yer own thing, in your own time"
Top down, Sun Shinin' ..It's all good...
No time to waste getting pi**ed ...
Treat Yourself and Enjoy Baby !

Only ever had 'words' from inside the car, but am usually over it and calm again 2 minutes later.

Although really did want to get out and belt the guy who tried to stop me overtaking on a Welsh road a couple of years back...

I was coming up behind this 'farmer type' in a battered pickup, doing about 40mph, but the road was a bit twisty and nowhere safe to overtake, so I eased off and stayed about 100m behind him. Got to a place where I could see about 1 mile ahead, which just happened to be on a heavily cambered, downhill then uphill, right-hand curve. I accelerated to whatever speed it was (don't tend to look at my speedo when I'm overtaking) and was about 10m off his rear (on the RHS of the road) and he pulled into my path!!!!

I had to slam on, the car weaving about under braking, ABS kicking in and I still nearly ended up with his tow bar in my radiator.

Blared the horn & flashed my lights at him as he continued to drive down the middle of the road until another twisty section appeared. Then proceeded to drive slower & slower.

Got to a tight little bit of the road where it does a 90 degree right then left, and overtook him on the inside as he took a wide line into the corner and then slammed on to a stop. He nearly went up the bank into the trees trying to avoid me. I belted the throttle and disappeared into the distance.

2 minutes later I was worrying that I'd get home to a waiting police man asking me to explain myself. Nothing ever came of it, but now I'll just remonstrate, overtake as quickly as possible and get out of there without 'retaliating'.
