That a good point, my car is only a weekend / nice weather car, never thought of non-enthusiasts using them as a daily driver, maybe I will have to wait a few years for a wave!

Whenever I see a Z, it is always srhutch so it would be rude not to flash :)

(taking the Z for the first outing this year on monday, so probably will see him again :D )
 
After seeing this thread, I flashed someone today, he didn't return. I guess I'll keep trying (but I think maybe where I live, very little are enthusiasts?)
 
you have to be watching oncoming traffic too
I have missed several Zs by being vacant
yet I always wave if I am paying attention

if you waved, it isn't you - it is me.
 
:driving: I GOT A WAVE from a Zed Roadster yesterday evening! Woo hoo. She was exiting a parking space which I was waiting for. And a Mazda MX5 let her on onto the other side of the road. I waved back of course :rofl: :)
 
I always wave or give an acknowledgement of some sort when I see another zed driver.

Around half the time, they wave back.

As mentioned, some zed drivers will have just bought into the BMW brand and couldn't give a hoot about the zed, which is a great shame :(

the z4 is to common im affraid. same problem with boxster's, mind you i think a lot of the owners were just stuck up. had a s2000 they flash :thumbsup:

I used to drive a LR defender, and obviously it was the done thing to wave to other landy drivers so I became used to doing it without thinking. I guess its nice to get acknowledgement from another driver with the same car as yours, especially if its a car like the Z. Nothing wrong with doing it as long as you dont mind being ignored now and then! :P
 
Flashed another Z driver today, the first one I've seen whilst driving mine. Did not get a response :thumbsdown: .
 
Think flashing's for Hampstead Heath or my known mates, otherwise a no no here.

I prefer Eye contact when you can with a wry smile, coupled with a subtle joint finger & head nod acknowledgement is all I'm happy with.
 
I still wave to Z3's and always get a return,
When I had a Z3, I would get a wave from Z3's, but not the Z4's
Now I have a Z4 I have stopped bothering anymore with you ignorant lot, I'm just wasting my time. :poke:
I'd have to Tweet or Facebook it for a response :rofl:

People seem to flash me.. mostly ladies and not their lights ;)! haha

But seriously people do to me but I don't always do it when I see Zds

Nobody flashes here to be friendly, flashing usually means slow down due to speed trap or animals on the road ahead. Some people wave to all cars because they might be neighbors. Drivers of other Zeds seem to often be in their own world, so there's no point in waving, they wouldn't notice. I'm sometimes guilty of that as well. I would certainly wave back if I notice someone waving to me.

If I see someone looking at me, or more likely the car, I'll give a non-committal wave, there's usually then some sort of reciprocal acknowledgement. Vigorous waving seems a bit overbearing.

What I don't understand are the sorts that try quite hard to pretend they didn't notice me. It doesn't seem to be a snobbish avoidance, more like what a submissive dog would do. They seem intimidated, even when there's no reason to be. Takes all kinds I guess.

Strange one with Defenders is you normally get flashed from the tomb raider /G4 Types and rarely from the working Blue farm Vehicle.

Basically if its a sunny day and i see another interesing roadster out enjoying himself i wave .

Think there's a few who drive Zed's consider themselves sub-zero cool & acknowledging someone else who's communicating any form of shared good taste is just beneath them.

However, anyone I've ever seen driving the same colour Maldives Blue as mine seems to gain an uncontrollable grin, especially in traffic...
