Do you ever regret....

hmm i think i will put the roof down in a minute.. roofs indeed... :poke: i do keep looking at e89's but with the roof down can you pack more than a toothbrush back there ? never mind bugger off abroad in it touring :?

I did a week with the 'management' touring in Devon & Cornwall. We have the standard fitted Roadster Bags and had more than enough space for all our kit.
Yes, you do have to raise the roof to get the bags in and out, but as that is usually when you park up for the night then the roof is going up anyway.
Any small items you may need during the journey can go on the shelf behind the seats, or into the small gap that is still accessible in the boot.
I certainly don't find it too inhibiting to be honest. Just needs a bit of planning.

Roadster - roof motor may drown
Two Seater Van - birdbath on the bootlid probably leading to rust.

Apart from that it's the boot size as everything else will wear out, break or require some attention at some point!

Certainly have noticed the bird bath in the last week but I just dry it down before it comes in.

I wonder if they had sold more coupe's then perhaps they would have developed both a coupe and a soft-top for the e89's.

Think the hideous monstrosity of the E89 was developed to compete with the folding hardtop of the SLK so no need for a Coo Pee to shame the brand further than they already did. Although they've taken it to new levels of stupid with the G29.

Noticeably there's no E89 version in M guise and that kind of tells you all you need to know although there is a 2.0 sdrive with eBay M badges in the carpark at work.

The E89 and G29 might well be fantastic cars to drive I just find them seriously ugly cars.

So the answer is if you want the newer version of the z4's drivers car then buy a Toyota?
