Do you drive something else in the winter ?

Never use the Z in the winter where we live. The Z is usually up on axle stands getting fettled during the winter months.
Nissan Pathfinder and Vectra diesel bus with snow tyres are the the transport.
Why? I need to get too and from work and eleven year old cars look better with no salt applied :wink:

This will be my first winter with the ///M. Although SWMBO has a Land Rover Discovery, she needs that to get to work. I need to get to the station every day - windy country roads and no public transport.

My zed is for fun only. Don't see me running it on the manky horrid winter roads.

Got SWMBOs Clio for the daily trip to gym, supermarket, etc etc and don't need to worry about salt, grime and all the nasty stuff

The z4 is my weekend summer only fun car. I have two other all wheel drive SUVs for the winter. My z4 is already put away for the winter. I get about 120 inches of snow in the winter. I also drop the insurance down to storage only during the time it will not be driven.

The Zed goes out most weekends all year round. I don't enjoy driving it, with the roof up, so don't take it out in the rain much.

The Rest off the time I have my little Mazda3 Sport, basically a mk1 Focus ST, with a better interior and less rust. It's actualy more fun, than the Zed, down a damp greasy B road, due to being so much easier to slide around over the limit. :driving:

If all else fails there's always Mrs G's Clio shopping Trolley.

My Z4 is a fine weather toy, my daily and poor weather 520d will take over when things turn inclement. We've also got a Merc A class which I'm looking to chop in for a small 4x4 if I can find a decent deal. Otherwise it's winter tyres for the 520.

Zed is for sunny dry days only... I like 4wd when grip might be a bit limited, so a Land Rover Discovery on winter tyres for her, and an A8 quattro on winter tyres for me.

Our other cars are both RWD so come the winter we will be buggered.

Luckily the supermarket and pub are all within walking distance and my snow boots have only had two outings in 3 years so if it does come down then I will have to leave the car and get walkin'

all the time unless it snows , then I go hire something sensible because 340 bhp through rear wheels makes it sort of undriveable in those conditions , last time I had a toyota aygo for a week it didnt cost much and coped very well

My Z4 will only come outside when weather is good. But this can be all trough the year. Tax and insurance is paid for the year, so why not keep it moving. Daily drive is a company car (Skoda Superb Diesel), the Z4 is hobby.

Although I don't SORN the Z, it hardly gets used if there is snow (or rain) about, rely on a Series 1 fitted with 16" non RF winter tyres from Nov to March. Wouldn't be able to get out of the driveway if there's snow on the normal 17" RF wheels. Hopefully put the winters on tomorrow if the weathers fine.
