Do you acknowledge other Zed drivers on the road?

 Lancs.
Does this happen to you: You’re driving along and see a fellow Zed driver heading towards you so naturally you give a flash of the lights or a cool palm up on the steering wheel and get no response :(
I don’t know about you but I have an inbuilt radar that’s constantly scanning for Zeds – I’d like to think I never miss one, certainly not if its oncoming. Today a silver Z3 driver acknowledged me with a palm up – I waved back, it felt good, but this is the exception rather than the rule.
I’ve come to the conclusion that there are two types of Zed driver: One type of owner who presumably believes they are driving just another sports car and therefore feel no camaraderie with other Zed owners, and another type of owner who, like me (and I assume you?), acknowledges other Zed drivers at every opportunity

Personally i do look out for E85s because i think they are by far the best looking Z4 :poke:  but i have never waved to or been waved at by another z4

Definitely! the only problem I have is that sometimes I flash and wave and I'm not in the Z.
Strange looks and a hands up for sorree.

I'm certain another forum member would acknowledge a flash or a wave.
Need to be a bit careful what you flash though!

I tend to look at the driver if I see another Z4 and if they appear to be looking at me then I usually give a little wave. Unfortunately 9 times out of 10 they just blank me ! Oh well !

I got waved at by another Z4 owner last summer (in Milton Keynes) when I first got the car. Haven't been waved at since.

Mostly yes

Rarely get an acknowledgement back. I come to think that unless you're on the forum, you won't wave. Some people just see the car as a car. No community spirit at all. Either that, or they're just rude b@stards...

Asked the same a few years ago and the resounding response was no. http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6210&hilit=flashing
to be fair I do acknowledge other z's when I'm in mine but 90% of the time its not returned.

There's around 33,000 Z4's on the road. As per the How Many Left site.

That includes the Tin Top E86 and the 3 Series in drag E89. :fuelfire:

15,301 members on the forum.

Therefore every 2nd Z4 you see should be a forum member!

Saw the same Sterling Grey pre facelift on Saturday and Sunday. Flashed and waved to the bloke. Nothing! :headbang:

Not even a glance from silver pre facelift on Saturday.

It's probably a case that drivers of the other Z4's are totally and completely oblivious to anything and everything around them!

Unfortunately not every member on the forum resides in the UK and unfortunately when people move on their user name stays too then you need to get into how many members in X place. I see lots of E85s a few E86's and rarely a E89 and when I do they don't look the type to be members.

Brian D seems to spot me whilst he's in an Audi or on foot and I spot swifty usually whilst I am on foot, I've actully walked by him with the roof down in traffic and I've been tempted to just run over and wave! I never have seen Adam or any other members. I've posted up cars I've seen from here to Silverstone and Nottingham and STILL no takers.

Some people buy a car to love and cherish it, others buy it to drive as a DD and have no real interest in the enthusiasts side of things. You know the kind of people who will happily open their car door on to yours, not understand why when your car is damaged you get 'upset' because 'it's just a car'

Do you buy this walking thing you talk about as an extra when you order an E89?

Well when you live smack bang in the centre of town it's only really fit for taking it out of town on to some decent 'fast' roads, where you don't have to worry about your wheels falling to bits with all the holes and cobbles. I'd use my car to work if I could but as its like 800 yards away and no parking seems silly

At least I acknowledge other Z4 drivers but they ignore me then again other drivers probably don't know what I'm driving :P
